Introduction: The possible links between cardiovascular and periodontal diseases have been studied with increased interest, leading in 2013 to the report of the European Federation of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology in favor of the regularity alliance. But what about our patient’s knowledge of this association ? It is to answer this question that we chose this theme. Objective : Assess our patients’state of knowledge about the link between periodontal and cardiovascular diseases. Materials/Method : Our survey was carried out at Tlemcen university hospital-Algeria , from october 2015 to october 2028,among patients with cardiovascular diseases. A self-questionnaire established for this purpose was used to collect information. Results/Discussion: Our study allowed the enrollment of 75 patients, reflecting a participation rate of 83,33%. The male gender was the most predominant (53%). The most represented age group was between 50 and 60 years old (37,3%). Hypertension was the most common cardiovascular disease (45,3%). Periodontitis stage IV grade C was the most diagnosed periodontal disease (61,1%). The majority of our patients responded that they did not know that there was an association between periodontal and general diseases (88%). In this case, the most cited example was diabetes (08%). Concerning the association between periodontal and cardiovascular diseases, only 1,3 % responded in the affirmative. Conclusion /Recommendations : The promotion of information campaigns must prevail among our objectives and actions.
